Labor leaders in Rhode Island have already begun to threaten lawsuits over the newly filed pension overhaul bill.

“I would fully expect that the final disposition of this would end up in court,” George Nee, president of the AFL-CIO told a crowd of business leaders at a Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce panel discussion on the pension bill.

He said he wasn’t sure if the challenge would be tacked on to existing lawsuits, or if the new pension bill would warrant a suit of its own.
