Boeing-SPEEA: Union complains of unfair labor practices again

By Steve Wilhelm, Puget Sound Business Journal

One week before negotiations are scheduled to resume between Boeing and one of its biggest unions, the engineers union has filed another unfair labor practices complaint with the National Labor Relations Board.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) filing on Wednesday contends that Boeing took surveillance photos of union members marching inside and outside Boeing’s Everett factory on Dec. 12, and after that as well.

“This is well-settled law that such surveillance is illegal,” said Ray Goforth, SPEEA executive director, in a release. “It’s disappointing to see Boeing leadership resort to intimidation rather than persuasion.”
