Cities where people are employed in the United States

By Scott Paulson,

According to a USA Today report on Monday, there are cities with decent employment rates in the United States in spite of the fact that the nation’s unemployment rate for Nov. 2012 is still quite high at 7.7 percent with 13 million Americans out of work according to the latest United States Department of Labor report from U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.

According to the Chief Regional Economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Martin Kohli, college and university towns in the United States are seeing higher employment as well as areas with industries and higher education, in general. Also in the logical mix of the job situations in differing areas, Kohli notes that some areas of the country simply are not growing in population like other areas and therefore are at an advantage for keeping their limited – as compared to growing – populous employed.
