Union leader to city: See you in court!

Union officials are reacting to the pension plan signed by Providence Mayor Angel Taveras Monday saying that city is going to have a court battle on its hands.

“We think we could come up with a better deal and we think the mayor and the city council should have took advantage of the 45 to 60 days remaining before the budget and this provision need to put in place and see if we can work out a deal that would prevent litigation,” Paul Doughty President of the Providence Fire Fighters Union told to WPRO Morning News with Tara Granahan and Andrew Gobeil. “As it stands now the city is no more than a gambler that just doubles down hoping that they will win in court.”
