The union representing about 1,000 Tempe and Phoenix bus drivers says it will postpone a strike that was planned for noon today.
The union set a new tentative strike date of March 9 to allow the union a chance to resume talks with employer Veolia Transportation Services at the request of Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
Representatives from Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1433 and Veolia Transportation Services met Thursday afternoon at City Hall with Phoenix officials to work out dates for additional labor talks in order to avert a strike.
